Getting there
Reaching the theatre
How to get to the tribute show in Myrtle Beach: driving to the complex, where it sits, eating beforehand, arriving early, accessibility and what to have on your phone.
Find your tribute show night ↗Quick answer
Most visitors drive. The theatre is inside a large shopping and entertainment complex in central Myrtle Beach, along the US 17 Bypass and about a mile and a half inland from the ocean. Entry to the complex is free. Eat there first, arrive early with your voucher on your phone, and ask for wheelchair seating when you book if you need it.
Where it is
The theatre stands inside the shopping and entertainment complex built around Lake Broadway in central Myrtle Beach. Wikipedia places the complex along the US 17 Bypass. It is not on the oceanfront: by its own account the complex lies about a mile and a half west of the Atlantic. Your voucher carries the theatre's full address, which is the one to type into a map app. Inside the complex, the property map and the Guest Services desk point you to the theatre.
Driving in
Most people arrive by car, as Myrtle Beach is spread out along the coast and most hotels are some way from the complex. US 17 is the main road linking Myrtle Beach with Wilmington to the north and Charleston to the south. Entry to the complex is free; its property map shows where the theatre stands and where to leave the car. The yearly influx of visitors brings congestion, so leave more time than the map suggests and aim to arrive before you are hungry.
Flying in
Myrtle Beach International Airport serves the city and its surrounding area, with regular flights. It stands on the site of a former Air Force base, which closed in 1993. If your trip is short, a show on arrival night, or on your last night before the flight home, is a neat way to use a night that would otherwise be lost to packing. Check the start time in the calendar against your flight times before you book.
Eat, then arrive early
The show ticket covers no food and the theatre is not a dinner venue, so eat first at one of the complex's restaurants. Doors open well ahead of the start, and arriving early means finding your seat calmly and settling in before the band begins. The theatre's snack bar sells snacks, soft drinks, beer and wine for the intermission. Have the voucher on your phone, and download it before you arrive, because the complex does not offer public wifi.
Access
The theatre is wheelchair- and pushchair-accessible with no stairs, and service animals are welcome. Request wheelchair seating when you reserve so it can be held for you. If you need a wheelchair, scooter or stroller for the walk through the complex, they can be rented in the Key West Village area, where Guest Services also hands out maps and visitor information. Infants sit on an adult's lap during the show. If anyone in your group finds long rows of seats awkward, mention it when you reserve; it is easier to sort out before the doors open than in a full room.
A checklist for the night
A few things make the evening smooth. Keep the start time from your voucher in mind and work back from it to dinner and to leaving the hotel. Travel light, because the complex has no storage lockers. Leave the camera flash off, since flash photography and filming are not allowed during the show. And if plans shift, a GetYourGuide booking stays refundable in full until 24 hours before curtain.
